I lecture at the School of Law, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg campus. I have been in academia for the past 7 years. I have an LLB and LLM qualification from UKZN and am a current PhD candidate. I am also a registered Advocate of the High Court. My PhD is on “Discrimination and Prejudice experienced by Gay Woman in their Christian Religious Groups: Pre and Post New Constitutional Dispensation”. I lecture Family Law and Gender and the Law. My expertise and niche area is Family Law and my interests are in the areas of Gender and the Law and International Humanitarian Law. I belong to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) International Humanitarian Law Teachers Association.
My passion lies with helping and uplifting woman in society and I get to do this as part of my community service required of me as a law academic. I enjoy enacting with people in both my professional and private capacity. In my spare time I enjoy reading a good novel , walking and pottering around the garden.
